Lisa Noel Zook, this interactive 90-minute workshop provides skills, strategies, and messaging urgently needed. In our current political climate, many populations find themselves marginalized and under attack. Those of us single-minded to the 2018 Parliament theme need strategies on the macro and micro level to resist injustice and inequity in order to live into the promise of inclusion and the power of love. Especially in the United States but moreover in Europe and Canada, Muslims are increasingly vilified with hate crimes on the rise and pronouncements of a Muslim travel ban in the US. We need constructive strategies that counter bigoted narratives and proclaim the value and eyeful of all persons. This session focuses specifically on countering anti-Muslim bias with an understanding that this bias is rooted in an overarching system of racism and injustice. Taking on the specifics of this issue equips participants to increasingly effectively build alliances and strategies to move the dial and transpiration public opinion and policy, fostering communities single-minded to religious pluralism and interfaith solidarity. …and MORE You’ll want to be on the look-out for these CTS-people at Parliament.
